KOZLOWSKI PIA

I started my yoga journey in the early 2000s and went through several traditions and many different teacher trainings and yoga styles before I landed in the way I practice and teach now. I strongly feel that Iyengar Yoga, Asthanga Vinyasa Yoga, Vini Yoga and Yoga therapy have taught me and inspired me and given me an incredible amount of useful tools, which I use everyday. With my background as a dancer of ballet, it eventually became more natural to me to practice vinyasa yoga's more fluid and varying form. With many years of experience in the above traditions and yoga styles, everything fell into place for me when I started exploring the field outside the frames of the traditions, or rather crossing the lines, and exploring the mix of useful tools from each one of them- and making sort my own flow. With Vinyasa I find space for both creativity, therapy, healthy alignment and flow. Both physically and on an energetic level. When this fell into place for me around 2005, I quickly experienced how therapeutic this form became for me and immersed myself more and more in Vinyasa krama philosophy and Yoga therapy. I started teaching Vinyasa yoga to dancers when I was dancing myself during a 4-year stay in Madrid, and since then Vinyasa yoga has been my main practice and tool to share and help others to come deeper into their body, and their practice. With the experience in the above mentioned traditions, I take the body's alignment principles and differences seriously by focusing on injury prevention and presence in the build-up of sequences. Both on an internal level and on an external/anatomical level. I love using music in my classes and experiencing how the music "lifts" us in practice. My classes have different themes and focuses depending on which chakras we work with, and I therefore interweave chakra awareness and philosophy so that the sequences and classes can be experienced as meaningful and therapeutic as possible.

Introduction

June 26th- July 1st 2027, Amorgos, Greece

We practice a long, playful and creative vinyasa session every morning, so that we can start the day with renewed energy and with more presence. Vinyasa classes always start with awareness, breathing and calm exercises, so that we wake up the body gradually. With the breath (ujjai) as a tool and focus, each vinyasa session becomes a small journey into the body's varied landscape, with different themes and focus from day to day. There will be an equal focus on strength and flexibility so you can expect to get deeper into every layer of your body this week.

In the afternoons we get a 90-minute Restorative yoga with backmitra, so that we can loosen up deep tensions and blockages in the shoulders, neck and thoracic spine - as well as release old patterns, mindsets etc. At the same time, backmitra helps us to strengthen deep core muscles. This is a deeply calming class and will calm your nervous system totally and make you sleep well at night.

You can learn more about the backmitra tool here

Together, these two methods will raise awareness of unhealthy movement patterns we have developed throughout life and can help us improve our posture in all layers of the body and make us stronger, more flexible and more present in movement and stillness. We will experience more space, more acceptance, and increased well-being within ourselves - and thus more love for ourselves and everyone around us.

The yoga shalas at the Aegialis site are all absolutely gorgeous rooms! Overlooking the entire Aegiali harbor, the hills and the sea, the shalas have an inspiring effect on our senses. Practicing here is absolutely magical!

Together with the many facilities the hotel's SPA section offers, will this be a healing, beneficial and nourishing yoga holiday for body and soul that will lift your wellbeing, health and spirit. The SPA section offers, among other things, different types of massage, aromatherapy, sauna, hamam, whirlpool, face and body care, hairdresser, gym and salt water pool both indoors and outdoors.

The beaches on Amorgos are known to be the most beautiful of all in the Cyclades, the movie Big Blue was filmed here! After yoga practice, the beaches tempt with their white sand and crystal clear water...Enjoy your favourite book, or take a walk in the wonderful herbaceous rock landscape along the sea to explore all the hidden secrets and magical lookouts the island has to offer.

Along your walk you will find wild sage, thyme and rosemary and notice the fine fragrance cheese herbs secretes. Several villages and tavernas are within walking distance of the hotel.

Amorgos is also an excellent snorkeling and diving site, and kayaks can be hired for adventure seekers.

The hotel restaurant Ambriosa offers a culinary Aeglian

food tradition, and the many tasty dishes are made from locally grown organic ingredients - from the hotel's own kitchen garden. From the restaurant terrace you can enjoy the view of the sea, the mountains and the nearby villages.

We have all experienced moments in life where clarity and peace of mind enable us to make conscious choices, enjoy the beauty of all that is, and feel at one with our surroundings. There is nothing better than being in a place that inspires peace of mind, to open the heart and heal the body. The island of Amorgos is one such place, with its unlimited spectacular views and the hotel's calm, natural atmosphere.

We find time, peace and space for ourselves through daily yoga practice, and let the surroundings and beauty fill the soul and senses.

The place itself gives a feeling of being filled with energy, inner calm and peace. A perfect starting point for a magical yoga experience!

Program

The flight and ferry to the island of Amorgos are not included. There are several possibilities here:

1. Fly to Athens and ferry to Amorgos (1 overnight stay and ferry approx. 4 hours)

2. Flight to Athens and domestic flight to Naxos (40 min)

Possibly overnight on Naxos then ferry to Amorgos (1 hour) 3. Fly to Santorini and take the ferry on to Amorgos (The ferry from Santorini to Amorgos leaves around midday ant takes approx 1.30 hours). Than one normally needs to stay at Santorini overnight (if the flight is not corresponding with the noon- ferry).

Aegean flies to Athens, Santorini and Naxos from many destinations, so much to choose from.

Generally, you have to calculate an overnight stay on the road.)

I recommend combining this holiday with another holiday if you have the opportunity! The possibilities are many if you want to extend your stay on Amorgos, or go to one of the many nearby beautiful islands around before the journey back home. Friends and/or family members are welcome to join, even if they are not practicing yoga and will not join the retreat. There is plenty of time in between the sessions to enjoy the hotel and island together. Of course, they would than only pay for board and lodging. Ferry routes and prices can be found at www.seajets.com
